Quick Built insulated patio

Frequently asked questions.

QuickBuilt patios are complete, flat-packed DIY kits using lightweight, self-supporting roofing panels — there's no need to build a frame or cut materials on site. You get a structural roof and a finished ceiling in one, a premium look, and a kit that goes up fast and stands up to the Australian climate. Choose fully insulated Insulspan or sleek high-gloss Slimline, in attached, freestanding, flyover or gable designs.

Because the kit is flat-packed and pre-finished, installation comes down to four simple steps: set the footings and concrete in the posts, fix the beams and brackets, lay and lock the roofing panels, then add flashings, gutter and finishes. You can build it yourself as a keen DIYer, or we can arrange professional installation — just ask our team.

Insulspan is a fully insulated, foam-core roofing panel — it combines a structural roof and a finished ceiling in one, keeping your patio cooler in summer, warmer in winter and quieter in the rain. Slimline is a sleek, high-gloss single-skin roof for a clean, modern look at a lower price point. Both are available across our attached, freestanding, flyover and gable designs.

Yes. The foam core in Insulspan panels resists heat transfer, so the space underneath stays noticeably cooler in summer and warmer in winter compared with a single-skin roof. The same insulation also dampens the noise of rain and traffic, making the patio far more comfortable to use year-round. The seamless underside gives you a clean finished ceiling that's ready for downlights and fans.

We supply attached patios that extend off your existing roofline, freestanding patios you can position anywhere in the yard, flyover designs that raise the roofline for more light and airflow, and classic gable styles. Our team will help you choose the right design and span for your site and how you'll use the space.

Roof panels, posts, beams and gutters are available in the full Colorbond® colour range to match your home. You can add LED downlights and flyover lighting, ceiling fans and skylights, all integrated into the kit. Tell us how you'll use the patio and we'll spec the right options in your quote.

Very little. The pre-finished panels and Colorbond® steel are durable and built for Australian conditions — there's no timber to rot or warp. An occasional clean is generally all that's required over the life of the patio.

Approval requirements vary by council and depend on the patio's size, height and location, so it's best to confirm with your local council before you build. Our team can provide product specifications and engineering details to support your application.
